Sarz

Osabuohien Osaretin, aka Sarz is a Nigerian producer, mix engineer and musician. Sarz got his first full credit production after he solely produced the hit song ‘See Drama’ for Lord of Ajasa.

Since then, Sarz has gone on to work with various top notch artists like Wizkid, Niniola, Lojay, Wande Coal, and Skales. 

Sarz caught major attention in 2010, after he produced the smash hit single Jor Oh, which went on to become the ‘Best Street Hop’ song at the 2011 edition of the Headies award. In 2011, Sarz produced songs like Skales’ ‘Mukulu’, Reminisce ‘Kako bi Chicken’, and Eldee’s ‘Today Today’, which were some of the biggest songs of the year. 

As a testament to his hard work in 2011, Sarz was nominated alongside Don Jazzy for the “Producer of the Year” award in the 2012 edition of the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. When Don Jazzy emerged the winner of the award, he gave the plaque to Sarz saying “No one else deserved it more”.

That same year, Sarz was called up by EME records -which was home to Wizkid, Skales, and Banky W- to work on their compilation album. He also released his first single ‘Beat of Life’ featuring Wizkid  that same year, and the song became a hit in Nigeria, and other countries like the UK, US, Ghana and SA. 

In Nigeria today, Sarz is arguably the best producer in the music industry, and his unique sound has gone on to propel lots of up and coming artists into the limelight. In 2019, he helped singer Wurld hit the mainstream, after they jointly released the album “I Like Girls With Trobul“, In 2021, Sarz collaborated with singer Lojay, and they released an EP titled ‘LV N ATTN‘ which had the hit song ‘Monalisa’ that same year he and Obongjayar released a gem of a collab EP “Sweetness

This year, Sarz has produced the hit single Gwagwalada for BNXN, and also released a 15 track album with members of his academy titled “Memories that last forever 2“.

With such an impressive career, Sarz definitely wasn’t doing too much when he dropped an EP in 2019 titled SINYM,” which is an acronym for ‘Sarz Is Not Your Mate‘. He knows exactly who he is, and his many works over the years have proven that when it comes to producing and mixing music, Sarz is in a class of his own.
