BIMS BLENDS AFRO-FUSION ROOTS WITH MODERN SOUNDS IN NEW PROJECT; UNORTHODOX EP

Bims unveils his New project, Unorthodox EP, a tale of love, life, and real-world experiences. Growing up and surrounded by the rich sounds of Afrobeat, Fuji, Apala, coupled with formal music training complementing his innate talent, Bims has quickly become a rising star in the Afro-fusion scene.

Unorthodox opens with “Casamigos,” a track that sets the tone with its upbeat, celebratory vibe.

The EP’s highlight, however, is the “Amapiano Remix,” featuring Zlatan. The original Amapiano track had already gained significant attention, the remix however, produced by Energyboiy and Rewardbeatz, amplifies the message of joy and love, turning the song into an escape from life’s struggles.

The emotional depth of the EP shines through in tracks like “Why” and “IFE,” where Bims reflects on the complexities of love. “Why,” with its lyrics—“BaBy why? Why oh why, you know I love you die”—captures the confusion and longing that often accompanies romance, while “IFE” sees Bims expressing unconditional admiration and devotion.

The EP closes on a high note with “Make Una Dance,” a feel-good, dance-heavy track featuring the legendary Sir Shina Peters. This collaboration bridges the gap between the old and new generation.

Unorthodox EP solidifies Bims’ status as a dynamic Afro-fusion artist, merging tradition with modernity.
