Gimba is a singer, songwriter and recording artist from Northern Nigeria. A beneficiary of The Sarz Academy led by legendary music producer, Sarz. Gimba has many times been described as a fresh sound to the scene, with vocal dexterity unique to himself and a pen-game that earned him listeners that run into hundreds of thousands.
Raised in Lagos, Nigeria – the country’s commercial city – Gimba has always been about the music. This laser-focused vision has earned him co-signs from household names in the afrobeats scene including Wizkid, Sarz, Wande Coal, Olamide, DJ Tunez, P.Priime and a host of others.
In 2023, his feature on DJ Tunez’s “Blessings” record had eyes turning in his direction as Wizkid was also on the song. On the same day, the Sarz Academy alumni was a contributor to the academy’s compilation project called “Memories That Last Forever Il”.
Fast forward a year later in 2024, Gimba released his debut EP project titled “Amince Da Tsari, Hausa for “Trust The Process.” The project features a song with Olamide Baddo, and solidifies Gimba’s place in the scene as one of the fastest-rising names to bank on.
