Gpenzy, the Abia state indigene born on the 30th day of June in the year 1995 grew up in Lagos state till the age of 15 when he moved to Effurun, Delta state. Here Gpenzy studied Petroleum Engineering in FUPRE for 4 years and suddenly dropped out for personal reasons. A year later in 2015, he moved to the east to study Industrial Chemistry at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), where he graduated with a second class upper before relocating to Lagos to pivot his career.
Gpenzy gives his listeners a strong afro beat & Highlife fusion as well as expressing love in a special way he refers to as AFRORnB, he Tells a love tale and narrates love as it should be, Mr Korret as he is popularly called by friends brings a sweet sensation to your ears.
In 2016 after his first year in school, he resumed his musical career with a first release “Simbi”. Gpenzy flows with Afro-pop, RnB, and Afro beats, he also plays the keyboard and drums. Several times he has said he’s been inspired by the likes of Jason Derulo, Rotimi, SAINt JHN, and Burna Boy.
